Bakuchiol: następca retinolu
نویسندگان
چکیده
Zmarszczki i przebarwienia to widoczne skutki fotostarzenia skóry, którego mechanizmy omówiono pokrótce w poniżej pracy. Dotychczas do zwalczania jego skutków używano aplikowany miejscowo retinol, znany dermatologii związek, stosowany z powodzeniem leczeniu trądziku. Dużym minusem terapii retinolem są występujące uboczne, m.in. podrażnienia wywołane ekspozycją skóry na światło słoneczne. Poszukiwania zamiennika retinolu o ograniczonych skutkach ubocznych przyniosły rezultat postaci bakuchiolu, meroterpenu pozyskiwanego Psolarea corylifolia.

Synthesis and Evaluation of Bakuchiol Derivatives as Potential Anticancer Agents.
A series of bakuchiol derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their anti-proliferative and the inhibitory activities on SMMC7721 cell line migration using PX-478 as a positive control. The results showed (S,E)-4-(7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyl-3-vinyloct-1-en-1-yl)phenol (10) to have the best activity among the tested compounds, which included PX-478. In addition, compound 10 showed greater inhi...
متن کاملBakuchiol augments MyoD activation leading to enhanced myoblast differentiation.
Myoblast differentiation is fundamental to skeletal muscle development and regeneration after injury and defects in this process are implicated in muscle atrophy associated with aging or pathological conditions. MyoD family transcription factors function as mater regulators in induction of muscle-specific genes during myoblast differentiation. We have identified bakuchiol, a prenylated phenolic...
متن کاملIn vitro antimicrobial activities of bakuchiol against oral microorganisms.
Bakuchiol was isolated from the seeds of Psoralea corylifolia, a tree native to China with various uses in traditional medicine, followed by extraction with ether and column chromatography combined with silica gel and octyldecyl silane. In this study, the antimicrobial activities of bakuchiol against some oral microorganisms were evaluated in vitro. The cell growth of Streptococcus mutans was i...
متن کاملGlycyrrhetinic acid might increase the nephrotoxicity of bakuchiol by inhibiting cytochrome P450 isoenzymes
BACKGROUND Licorice, a popular traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), is widely used to moderate the effects (detoxification) of other herbs in TCM and often combined with Fructus Psoraleae. However, the classical TCM book states that Fructus Psoraleae is incompatible with licorice; the mechanism underlying this incompatibility has not been identified. Glycyrrhetinic acid (GA), the active metaboli...
متن کاملAssessment of Antifungal Activity of Bakuchiol on Oral-Associated Candida spp.
Bakuchiol is an active component of Psoralea glandulosa and Psoralea corylifolia, used in traditional Chinese medicine. The study aimed at investigating the antifungal activity of bakuchiol on planktonic and biofilm forms of orally associated Candida species. The antifungal susceptibility testing was determined by the broth micro dilution technique. Growth kinetics and cell surface hydrophobici...
